Tsukimachi Nagasaki Yokocho(つきまち長崎横丁)

About 2 minutes on foot from Hamamachi Arcade Tram Stop

Opened in 2025 in Tsukimachi, central Nagasaki City, Tsukimachi Nagasaki Yokocho brings together a wide variety of eateries on one floor. You can enjoy Nagasaki-born specialties such as “Turkish Rice”: a hearty plate combining pilaf, Neapolitan pasta, and tonkatsu, as well as champion,” a noodle dish in which ingredients and thick, specially made noodles are simmered together in a rich pork- and chicken-based broth. In addition, you’ll find ramen, seafood rice bowls, and many other genres, all in one place, along with locally produced sake. It’s the perfect spot for “hashigo-zake,” a Japanese custom of hopping from one bar to another rooted in “izakaya culture” originating in the Edo period. Some of the original market shops continue to operate here, offering a glimpse into the area’s everyday food culture. After sunset, when lanterns glow and Japanese umbrellas and bamboo decorations adorn the space, the nostalgic atmosphere makes it an ideal photo spot.
