Notice of Long-Term Closure   
The Mikawachi Ware Museum in Sasebo City will be closed for approximately two years starting March 31, 2026, due to large-scale renovation work.
The reopening is scheduled for around autumn 2028, and the exact date for resuming operations will be announced once it has been decided.
 

The masterpieces of valuable Mikawachi-yaki ancient art from the Edo period to the Meiji period, and a number of modern Mikawachi-yaki inheriting 400 years of tradition are on exhibit. You can also try making handmade pottery(china painting) and "sukashibori" the sculpturing called openwork. (There is a charge for each activity.)
