Mt. Inasa during the daytime
From the summit, which stands 333 meters above sea level—the same height as Tokyo Tower—visitors can enjoy a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view overlooking the city of Nagasaki. On clear days, the view extends as far as Unzen, Amakusa Islands, and the Goto Islands.Be sure not to miss the magical “golden-to-blue hour” at dusk, when the scenery transforms from sunset into night, creating a truly enchanting atmosphere.
Mt. Nabekanmuri Observatory - A lesser-known but locally recommended spot
Mt. Nabekanmuri stands at 169 meters tall, offering a panoramic view of Nagasaki City. In particular, the Nagasaki Port area and the International Cruise Ship Terminal can be seen from the spacious observation deck. On a clear sunny day, visitors will also be able to spot 5 components of the “Sites of Japan’s Meiji Industrial Revolution: Iron & Steel, Shipbuilding and Coal Mining”, which is registered as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Get off at Ropeway-mae (ロープウェイ前) bus stop and walk to Ropeway Fuchi-jinja Station. (Approx. 3mins)

Buy the ticket at counter. Inside the station, you can get various souvenirs including the Nagasaki Ropeway original items.

Enjoy 5-minutes-ride of Nagasaki ropeway and get off at Nagasaki Ropeway Inasa-dake Station. Then, walk to the observatory for 3mins.
Nagasaki Ropeway Free Shuttle Bus
Nagasaki Ropeway free shuttle bus service connecting the city to Ropeway Fuchi-jinja Station is available only between 19:00 to 22:00 everyday. *Advance reservation required

Buy a ticket for slope car at the station and get on the slope car.

Enjoy 7-minutes-ride of Inasayama slope car and get off at Inasayama Slope Car Sancho Station. Then, walk to the observatory for 3mins.

If you visit by car, you can use one of the following parking areas: the Summit Observatory Parking Lot, the Midway Parking Lot, or the Fuchi-jinja Station Parking Lot. Please note that if you park at the Midway Parking Lot or the Fuchi-jinja Station Parking Lot, an additional fee is required for the slope car or ropeway to reach the observatory.
