In 1899, there was a gathering spot known as the "house cathedral", which also served as a chapel. Christians from twenty households upkept this church, but when Father Osaki became the head priest of Aosagaura Church, he had a white church constructed atop the hill in Maruo which would formally become an itinerant church. It was remodeled in 1972, and in 1975 it became independent from Aosagaura Parish and formed the Maruo Parish.
