Funakakushi Church

This church sits at the end of an inlet which opens up to the Goto Sea. In 1927, the first generation church was established in a purchased private house, but due to dilapidation and the post-WW2 population increase, construction of a new church, the current Funakakushi Church, began in 1952. Despite landslides and typhoons impeding its construction, it was completed in 1956.
