Roadside Station "Yuhigaoka Sotome" is located in the northern part of Nagasaki City and is the only roadside station in Nagasaki City.
The Shusaku Endo Literature Museum is adjacent to the station, and the surrounding Sotome area has many attractions, including the World Heritage Sites of "Izu Village" and "Ohno Village" and the Izu Cultural Village.
It is also a spot where visitors can fully enjoy the spectacular view of the islands in the majestic Sumorinada Sea and the Dezu Cultural Village, as well as the distant view of the Goto Islands on a clear day.
In particular, the view of the sunset from here is said to be one of the most beautiful in Nagasaki.
The product pavilion sells seasonal local agricultural, forestry, and marine products, as well as specialties and handicrafts such as Do-Ro-Sama Somen noodles. The restaurant overlooking the magnificent Kakurinada Sea serves home-style dishes made with local ingredients. There is also a take-out pavilion that sells ice cream and soft-serve ice cream.
