ISLAND BREWERY　

A small, local brewery dedicated to crafting unique brews inspired by local ingredients. Try a flight of seasonal beer while enjoying fresh-caught Iki seafood in the recently-renovated, historic taproom in Katsumoto. The beautiful traditional building was used from 1887 to 1984 by Harada Distillery to produce shochu and sake. After a distillery merger, they stopped producing alcohol in the building and switched to a storefront. The founder, a fifth generation of Harada Distillery, established Island Brewery in 2021 out of desire to preserve tradition while venturing out into new frontiers. As homage to its origins, you can see a traditional sugidama, a ball made from Japanese cedar branches that signifies the completion of a new batch of sake.
